Home Sweet Home DIY

Welcome to my 2nd Home Sweet Home DIY! Now, we all know that this is exam week for students and that can lead to tons of stress (and dare I say, breakouts?). So, in these crucial times, I like to take a few moments from procrastinating studying to relax!! Of course, not only are these recipes beneficial for students, it can be good for those who just need some relaxation from life in general ^__^ Today's Home Sweet Home DIYs are...

BUBBLES!!!!!!!!

Don't you remember those childhood days where a bubble bath was the most fun we could ever have and it would probably be comparable to us going to a spa or a mani-pedi today!! Well, this simple milky bubble bath may not transport you back in time, but it'll definitely make you feel good ^_^!

Ingredients:
1/2 cup milky liquid soap or shower gel
1 tablespoon sugar or honey
1 egg white

Directions:
Mix together all ingredients. To use, pour the entire mixture under the running water as you draw your bath. The sugar and egg whites condition skin and add to the bubbly effect, but be sure to rinse with warm water afterward!

STRAWBERRY MASK!!!

Strawberries are rich in salicylic acid, the same key ingredient in many commercial acne products. Reduce stress-induced blemishes with this yummy mask!  This rids the skin of dead cells, allowing it to absorb moisture and look healthy and radiant.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup fresh strawberries
1 tablespoon sour cream
2 teaspoons honey

Directions: Mix together all ingredients until smooth using a fork or blender. To Use: Spread over your face and neck and let sit for 20 minutes. Rinse with cool water and pat skin dry.

CHAMOMILE TEA BAG

Ingredients:
2 chamomile tea bags
1 cup of warm milk

Directions:
Treat your tired eyes to a treatment that’s as relaxing as it is beautifying. Soak two chamomile tea bags in lightly warmed milk until soft. Place the tea bags over your closed eyes and rest in a quiet, comfortable spot for 10 minutes. The milk replenishes moisture in the delicate skin, and the scent of chamomile is soothing to frayed nerves. After 10 minutes, gently rinse with warm water and apply your favorite eye cream.

ROSE PETALS

Although any flower petals will do, putting rose petals in your bathtub will not only make you feel spa-licious but it will also help clear your mind and relax. It is an Asian belief that when you take a bath in rose petals, you cleanse your soul and make it pure.

ACUPRESSURE
Rub Your Ears
According to Ayurveda, India's 5,000-year-old 'science of life,' there are marma points—like acupuncture points—in the ears that correspond to the various parts of the body," says Lissa Coffey, author/producer of the
Dosha Yoga DVD. Simply rub the circumference of each ear—right hand on right ear and left hand on left ear—to instantly ease tension.

I hope these tips will help you and relieve any stress that you may have!!!
I've recently been scouring eBay for some great makeup brushes to add to my ever-growing collection, but I was stunned to find so many fake MACs, Bobbi Browns, and NARS' being passed off as authentic products. So, please stay tuned for my next blog entry: "Keepin' It Real" where I will tell you how to distinguish between a few real and fake products!!
